The Training Laboratory of Horticulture and Viticulture operates with the aim of broadly involving scientific and pedagogical staff and students of all levels of the university in conducting basic research and implementation of applied development in priority areas of scientific and innovative activities in horticulture and viticulture.

Laboratory research is carried out in the following areas:

• study of biological features of fruit and berry crops;
• development of technologies for their cultivation of fruit and berry crops;
• development of technologies for growing and propagating rare fruit and berry crops;
• improvement of technologies for protection of fruit and berry crops;
• growing organic products of fruit and berry crops.

The laboratory is a structural educational and scientific subdivision of the Faculty of Agrotechnologies and Environmental Use.

The main tasks of the laboratory are:

The laboratory is equipped with visual aids, technical teaching aids, drying cabinet, tools and visual equipment. The main research and training production base is a research field “orchard” with an area of ​​3 hectares, as well as a uterine department for growing new varieties of fruit crops with an area of ​​0.6 hectares, an organic area with an area of ​​0.6 hectares.

The laboratory operates on the squares and research and laboratory facilities of the university, has the appropriate material support. It facilitates scientific seminars, scientific schools, scientific conferences, develops the necessary scientific and methodological materials for the educational process in accordance with current and future areas of educational and scientific work of the university.

The laboratory is a base for laboratory classes for higher education students in educational programs 201 “Agronomy”, 202 “Plant protection and quarantine”, 206 “Horticulture”, 205 “Forestry”

Modern seed growing technologies. Fruit growing. Entomology. General entomology. General phytopathology. Phytopathology. Insect physiology. Insect ecology.

Agricultural enterprises, farms, gardeners are offered cooperation in growing various fruit and berry crops:

1) black currant seedlings;
2) red currant seedlings;
3) seedlings of garden strawberries;
4) rootstocks for stone fruit and pome fruit;
5) apple seedlings;
6) pear seedlings;
7) cherry seedlings;
8) raspberry seedlings.
