The Educational and Scientific Laboratory of Potato Growing and Vegetable Growing operates with the aim of involving scientific and pedagogical staff and students of all levels of the university in conducting basic research in priority areas of scientific and innovative activities in vegetable growing.

Laboratory research is carried out in the following areas:

  1. Improving the technology of growing seedlings of vegetable plants in closed soil.
  2. Development of innovative technologies for growing cucumbers and tomatoes on the substrate in closed soil;
  3. Improving the technology of growing seedlings of vegetable plants in cassettes;
  4. Research on the formation of the structure of the varietal composition of the main vegetable plants in closed soil conditions.
  5. Development of technology for growing microgreens of various cultivated plants.

The educational and scientific laboratory of potato growing and vegetable growing is a structural educational and scientific subdivision of the faculty of Agrotechnologies and Environmental Use.

The main tasks of the educational and scientific laboratory of potato growing and vegetable growing are:

– providing the necessary conditions for thematic lectures, laboratory, practical and seminar classes, training practices, courses, qualification projects (works) by students: 201 “Agronomy”, 202 “Plant Protection and Quarantine” and dissertations by graduate students and applicants;

– organization of students’ research work, introduction of scientific research into the educational process. Providing conditions for students to acquire skills and abilities of research work and application of the acquired knowledge in practice.

– ensuring of research work by scientific and pedagogical researchers and students; implementation of scientific developments in accordance with approved scientific and thematic plan of the university;

– conducting agricultural production on the basis of widespread implementation of modern science, technology, best practices and testing of new production technologies, storage and processing of vegetable products, including high-quality seed and planting material, development and implementation of resource-saving, ecological technologies;

– providing conditions for research, testing and implementation in the production of modern technologies for the production of organic vegetable products;

– ensuring the continuity of the educational-scientific-production process of training future specialists in the field of vegetable growing, especially indoor vegetable growing;

– promotion of modern innovative technologies developed by scientists of the university in the sphere of field vegetable growing and indoor vegetable growing, by setting up demonstrative and technological landfills, greenhouses, seminars, conferences, etc.

The educational and scientific laboratory of potato growing and vegetable growing is located in the greenhouse complex. There are educational and scientific laboratories, which are equipped with a demonstration table, a classroom board, a device for the use of technical teaching aids, etc. in this complex. Educational and scientific laboratories are equipped with educational and visual aids, technical teaching aids, drying cabinet, thermostats, refrigeration units, sectional cabinets for storing devices, utensils, tools and educational equipment, glass greenhouses for growing seedlings, research work, etc.

The Educational and Scientific Laboratory of Potato Growing and Vegetable Growing is a base for conducting laboratory and practical classes for applicants in educational programs 201 “Agronomy”, 202 “Plant Protection and Quarantine”, 206 “Garden design”, 205 “Forestry”, 101 “Ecology”, 208 “Agroengineering”, 141 “Electric power, electrical engineering and electromechanics”, 073 “Management”, 051 “Economics” in the following disciplines: Vegetable growing, Indoor vegetable growing, Selection and seed production of field crops, Modern varietal resources of field crops, Field crops technologies of agricultural production, Technology of crop production, etc.

Farms and gardeners are offered cooperation in growing high-quality planting material (seedlings) of modern varieties and hybrids of basic vegetable plants:
