The educational and scientific laboratory operates in order to involve scientific and pedagogical staff and students of all levels of the university in conducting basic research and carrying out of applied developments in priority areas of scientific and innovative activities on storage and quality control of crop products.
Laboratory research is carried in the following areas:
- studying of modern methods of storage of crop products;
- studying the methods of accounting the losses of grain, fruit and vegetable products during storage;
- determining the main indicators of grain and seed quality;
- determining the main quality indicators of cereals, flour, pasta, oil and bread;
- determining the nitrate content in vegetables and fruits.
The main tasks of the laboratory are:
- conducting laboratory and practical classes at a high scientific, methodological and technical levels with students of specialties: 201 “Agronomy”, 202 “Plant protection and quarantine”; 205 “Forestry”; ”206“ Garden design ”.
- providing conditions for training practices
- assistance in the implementation of scientific work of students, including graduation theses devoted to solving problems of storage and quality control of crop products.
- providing conditions for research by graduate students and teachers of the university.
- implementation of state budget and economic contract issues on storage and quality control of crop products.
The laboratory is a structural educational and scientific subdivision of the Department of Plant Growing and it is located in the auditorium № 201. The teacher’s workplace is fully equipped with the necessary materials, adapted for the use of technical teaching aids, etc. The laboratory is equipped with educational and visual stands, technical means of training.
The laboratory is a base for laboratory and practical classes for higher education students in educational programs 201 “Agronomy”, 202 “Plant Protection and Quarantine”, 101 “Ecology” in the following disciplines:

Agricultural enterprises and farms are offered cooperation:
- providing recommendations for storage of crop products;
- calculation of the required capacity of the granary;
- determination of the main indicators of grain quality;
- determination of the actual volume of grain storage in the warehouse;
- accounting for losses of grain and fruit and vegetable products during storage;
- determination of acid number in flour and oil;
- determination of quantitative and qualitative accounting of grain during storage;
- assessment of flour quality;
- calculation of storage ventilation system.
